What is Power Factor? Power Factor is a ratio of how much
A
pparent Power is required by an electrical panel in order to
transfer
Real Power to the appliance or equipment. Apparent Power
is measured as
kVA (Kilovolt Amperes) and Real Power is measured
as
KW (Kilowatts). Power factor is a ratio from 0 to 1. If the power
factor in your household or business is below 1, then you are likely
wasting energy. For example, if your power factor is 0.5 then you
require 2 vKA for every 1 KW used. By
correcting power factor in
your household or business, you are decreasing the amount of
Apparent Power being used to draw Real Power to where it's
needed. Overall demand would decrease worldwide IF this concept
was better adapted. (

Power factor correction plays a pivotal

Think the world has environmental
issues? There's still hope for Canada
By reducing energy
consumption in homes
and businesses, we
are also reducing CO2
emissions. Plus, with
world crisis and
market speculators
driving up the cost of
oil daily, homeowners
and business owners are sensitive to energy costs and are looking
for ways to reduce them. Every single day, the U.S. alone spews 70
million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) into our earth's atmosphere. If
every household in the U.S. were to install a
Power Green Saver
1200
unit, they would reduce their 25 trillion tons of annual emitted
carbon emissions by 180 million metric tons per year. And that's just
residential. We as Canadians are in an ideal position to be proactive in
the early stages of our nations development. Canada is being
recognized as an emerging population superpower. By reducing our
carbon footprint early, we stand a better change of facing the
environmental challenges of tomorrow. Federal and Provincial
governments have initiated several programs to support efforts that
reduce carbon emissions. Question is, are we using them?
Are hydro rates on the rise?
According to the National Energy Board's (Canadian) Current Market
Conditions, long-term pricing impacts will be felt to cover the costs of
building new power plants and transmission facilities for the purpose of
replacing the old ones, and also to cover the costs of soaring fuel
prices for power plants in regions that run on oil products. Utility
companies in several provinces have been and will continue to raise
rates and regulate energy consumption as deemed necessary.

Electricity - Current Market Conditions April-June 2011
The Alberta wholesale price continued to rise in 2011, reaching
$182/MW.h for on-peak power in February. (

Effective May 1, 2008 - Ontario residents that have been switched to
smart meters, will be on a time-of-use (TOU) pricing schedule to cover
the costs of peak usage, which are priced as high as 9.3 cents per
KHh. (

Electricity - How Canadian Markets Work
The Canadian electricity system is part of an integrated North American
electricity grid, but Canada's electricity markets have primarily
developed along provincial or regional boundaries. (

Feature product: Power Green Saver 1200
The Power Green Saver 1200 is a residential or small business power saving unit that connects directly to breaker
panels, sub-panels, inductive load appliances, motors, pumps and other equipment. It helps
minimize wasted power,
decreases
heat dissipation, provides surge protection, increases capacity in electrical panels and extends the life of
your appliances and equipment. It can also improve the power factor of the entire household or establishment, when
connected directly to the breaker panel, it actually
slows down your electric meter - which lowers your electric bill.
